Hey! This will be my thread for advice. First Problem: I'm very shy, so people like to step all over me when they get the chance. I'm so nice that I let them. Any confidence boosters or advice will be appreciated.

First Problem: I'm very shy, so people like to step all over me when they get the chance. I'm so nice that I let them. Any confidence boosters or advice will be appreciated. It's usually much easier to let people walk over you than you stand up to them. First of all, think about why you let them walk over you. Is it because you don't like confrontation? Or is it because you'd rather let things pass? Whatever the reason, tell yourself that you're not a doormat, but a person who deserves respect. Look in mirror and pretend you're about to be walked over. Think of a counter reply, such as, "No," or, "I don't like you treating me like that." Next time an opportunity arises, picture yourself in front of the mirror, and stand up for yourself.
