I used to take Zoloft but it made me worse, so now I just take Celexa that's a cousin of Zoloft, and it works really well for me.

I don't take any depression medicine. Prozac works really well for a lot of people, though. I've heard of them getting addicting... That's partly why when people eventually go off these medicines, they do it gradually.

I took Paxil. It worked pretty well for me, but I had to go off it to switch to my new medication. Love, ~The Kitten~

I recently got diagnosed with depression and chances are I'm going to have to start taking medication. So can anyone clear up a few questions I have?
1. I've heard about some depression meds getting addicting. Is this true?
2. My friend's sister takes Zoloft and my friend says that since she's started taking it, she goes through major mood swings and screams and yells and says horrible things. Has anyone had an experience like this?
3. What kind of change do you notice in your mood?
4. How often do you take your medication, whether it's Prozac, Zoloft, etc?
5. Do you get any side effects? Are they mild or severe?
I'm kinda nervous about going on antidepressants, so if anyone can clear this up for me I'd be really grateful. Thanks!!!

1. I've heard about some depression meds getting addicting. Is this true?
Some... but it's not like nicotine where you neeeed it. You just get slight side effects --- like sometimes I just start shaking a little before I take it. But it's nothing big. 2. My friend's sister takes Zoloft and my friend says that since she's started taking it, she goes through major mood swings and screams and yells and says horrible things. Has anyone had an experience like this?
I haven't... and I take Zoloft. It's actually helped my mood swings. 3. What kind of change do you notice in your mood? It seems I don't really care anymore... about ANYTHING.
4. How often do you take your medication, whether it's Prozac, Zoloft, etc?
Zoloft - Twice a day. 5. Do you get any side effects? Are they mild or severe?
Just slight body tremors and dry mouth
