I've heard somewhere that caffeine is bad for your back but I'm not really sure its true. I try to stay away from caffeine because it makes me very hyper and instead of keeping me awake, it makes me even more tired.

A few Cokes or coffee may keep you awake but that's such a small dose that it will not have serious effects (however there are less serious effects of caffeine, a major one being dehydration). I have heard that caffeine in large doses, such as pills, can have serious consequences on your nervous system, like problems with your heart. Caffeine speeds up the nervous system, so I'm going to take a wild guess and say that your heart may beat too fast. Anyway it might cause a heart attack I don't know the DETAILS but I know it's not good.

If you're always so tired... Get more sleep. It's tempting to stay up till 2:00 in the morning on a school night if you're on the phone or have homework or something, but it's has a really bad effect on you for the rest of the day. Plan your schedule better so you have the end of the night to relax, and try not to go to bed any later than 10:00 or so. Some people need more sleep than others to function properly later on.
Anyway... Is it possible that caffeine can have no effect on you? I can drink coffee at any time of the day or night, and I'm just as tired (if not more tired) than before I had it. I can drink coffee or tea at midnight and fall right asleep!

Caffeine probably wouldn't affect you right before bed because it might take some time to get into your 'system' or whatever.

I'm an admitted caffeine addict. I drink about 3 cups of coffee daily, and I can't stay awake without it. I don't sleep much, so caffeine keeps me going. It's bad, but I've cut down since last year. Hopefully, I'll stop once my workload dies off (which will be never... but I digress).
