Does anyone else get an unbearably itchy nose, like in the nostrils? My mom thinks I am allergic to my guinea pigs because whenever I hold them close to my face I seem to get this. Does anyone know of anything I can put on it or do? I was putting hot water in my nose with a Q tip but it still itches. My mom said to put salt water in it but I don't know if that would hurt. Also, could it be my piggies or because I have a small cold? Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I really don't want to be allergic to my pigs, and this has never happened before. Do certain allergies develop over time? Thanks...

Some allergies develop over time, but I think that's because they were always there. Before doing anything drastic, it may not be the animals themselves, it could be the food they eat or the stuff you line the cage with. Try changing those before worrying it might be the pets. That, or if you bathe the pigs, try a different type of shampoo.
Is the itching inside or outside your nose? And are there other effects such as runny eyes or sniffling and sneezing? If it's the outside of the nose, it might be just the hairs brushing against your skin. Your nose might just need a good rubdown before holding the pigs close.

I have it sometimes. I'm allergic to kiwis. They make me throw up.
