I had it in the 2nd grade too. You get a special shampoo and really really really fine toothed combs to brush your hair with so you get all the eggs. I forgot how many times you have to do this...it's been awhile. And like lilblondie1892 said, wash EVERYTHING. You don't want to get it again.

Basically, you should go to your pharmacy/drug store/whatever and ask what lice shampoo they recommend. They'll know.
Then, obviously, follow the instructions. That should cover it. And yeah, wash your stuff.
I had it when I was about 10. I have REALLY curly hair, and it's really thick (think Keri Russsell before the hair cut. Or Scary Spice). I'm tellin' ya, NOT fun. I had it in the summer, so I wasn't home from school or anything, but I remember that I used the shampoo but also every morning for 2 weeks, I sat outside while my mom picked the things out of my hair. The comb wasn't good enough cuz it would get tangled in my hair, so my mom had to use her fingernails. Each strand of hair. Every morning. NOT cool...
But anyway, get rid of it as fast as you can. Good luck!

Oh My God! I had those in 5th grade when I was 11. It's not fun. We didn't know how to get rid of them so my mommy used the vaccum cleaner hose on my head and ta-ta they went. Good Luck!

Aside from removing the eggs, I heard using mayonaise is good too. Rub throughout hair. My guess how it works is that it suffocates them.
Not to mention making your hair look really nice, but it's not surprisingly quite messy. A Saturady morning thing to do for sure.
