You can't lose fat just on your stomach. However, if you want to get more toned, you can do some strength-traning exercises and do a cardiovascular workout 3-4 times a week for about 30 minutes. In one week, the most you will probably be able to lose is 2 lbs. of fat. If you lose any more than that, you're just losing water weight. Also, don't forget that women are supposed to have some fat on their stomachs. It's completely normal, and it's also more attractive than being bone thin, according to the guys I know.

If you do exercises for your 'stomach-muscles' (I think those things have a name, but I can't think of it ), it will help you to lose fat faster on your stomach, if you do enough cardiovascular workouts. Here are some exercises: Crunches: You've probably heard of them, but I'll explain them to you just in case. Lie on the floor, with your knees up and your feet on the floor ^-o (<that's you). Put your hands on the back of your head, and lift your shoulders up from the floor. Your lower back stays on the floor. Make sure you don't use your arms to get up, only use your stomach-muscles. Hold for 1 second, and go down again. Crunches for the lower stomach: Lie in the same position as with the crunches, but now pull your knees up in the direction of your chin (they don't have to touch your chin, that's impossible) - your feet don't touch the ground anymore. Now do crunches as I explained above. More crunches (not sure for what muscles these are ): Lie in the same position again, but now lay your knees to one side. Then do crunches. Lay your knees to the other side, and do crunches again. I hope I helped! ~*Esther*~

I would have to agree with Cassiopeia. Being bone thing isn't very attractive at all. Tae-Bo has really helped me get more toned, though. I can see the difference in my arms, legs, and tummy. It's great, I love it. ;D

i agree with all of the above posters. but depending on how much weight you need to loose, it may not be healthy to loose it all in just one week. all of my health teachers have told me that loosing 2-5 pounds a week is completely normal. anything more than 5 pounds a week can be very dangerous to your health.

This the absolutely greatest workout for my belly, ever! Its pilates NOTE:Follow the second picture, not the first.1.lie on your back 2.bend your right leg upwards (like the pic) 3.straighten the left one 4.put your hands in the back of your head 5.Like crunches, bring your upper body up 6.turn your upper body to the right then the left(while you are doing this, bend your left leg then your right, like you are kicking upwards) repeat 15-30x do it once a day, trust me you'll notice the difference. good luck!

^^ I agree that they are an amzing workout for your stomach! You can definately feel the burn.
Anyways I just wanted to post a few things I thought you might like to know:
- Women are *supposed* to have a layer of fat on their stomach because it protects the uterus and, if your pregnant, your baby
- There really *are* no "upper" or "lower" abs, the abdominal muscle is actually just a large "sheet" of muscle covering your stomach
- This may sound weird but all the "stomach bulge" you see could be your posture. Most teen girls have a tendacy to slouch which causes all the fat to go together and basically look bad. My advice is to pretend that there's a string hanging from the ceiling and it's pulling you up straight. Keeping your shoulders back, back straight and pelvic muscles tilted inwards instantly takes "pooch" off of your stomach
- Drink lots of water. The stomach is the place where we get bloated, which is caused by water retention. It's weird but drinking *more* water will help drain the "bad" water out of your system!

I love the Winsor Pilates. They are really fun to do, I was doing them last night, and I could feel the diffrence. It sure helped me lose the weight on my tummy.

I don't know if anyone has heard of it, but what works really good is "The plank" It's 30 seconds in 3 different positions and then 30 seconds back in the first. So, 2 minutes twice a day.
Start with you *butt pushed down* and your elbows on the floor with you hands clasped and everything off of the ground except for feet, hands, and lower arms. Position yourself so you can feel it burn and then hold for 30 seconds.
Then without touching the ground with your tummy, transfer yourself onto your left side with only your left elbow and lower arm and feet on the ground. Position yourself so it burns then hold it for thirty seconds.
Rotate to the other side, repeat for thirty seconds.
Repeat step one and then you're done!
Make sure when you do these your stomach is sucked in so you don't get bulgy out abs, but flat ones.
Studies show that doing these two times a day is better then doing 500 situps a day.
Try it!

As everyone else has said, you're *supposed* to have fat on your stomach. It's part of being a woman. And you can't just spot-tone, to lose weight you need to exercise your whole body. Crunches and stuff, like the Pilates (which I have to say IS a great exercise) are made to be in addition to extra exercise if you want to lose weight. I personally reccomend running. It's an awesome workout - it builds up your endurance, burns major calories, but most of all, it really clears your mind. If you don't normally run, just start really small - maybe a half or 3/4 of a mile @ first and build yourself up to more, like 3, 4, or 5 miles.
