Hey runners! Share your loves, hates, times, kinds, everything about running! Me: I'm a cross country and track runner. I only do track to keep in shape for xc though. Cross country is one of my favorite things in the world! I'm a freshman, btw. This was my first year doing xc and I made varsity and went to the state championships and had the greatest time! Well, State was the most terrifying experience of my life but other than that it was great In xc most races are 3.1 miles (5000K) and in track I run the 3200 (2 miles). My cross country coach is the most awesome person/coach ever! He has helped me so much while still acting like a kindergartener. Lol, he really reminds me of a kindergartener sometimes! He's so great though! Keep running! [glow=red,2,300] ¤*¤EMILY¤*¤[/glow]

Mr. Miller is the Devil. He ruins track. Sorry, no one else would know what I'm talking about. Emily and I run XC and track together. Anyways, are there any other runners here?

[glow=red,2,300]ME![/glow] I love running! I run cross country and track (for track, usually 1500 and 3000 meters) I can only do 1500 this year though, because it's on the first day of the local meet, and 3000 is on the second, and I'm leaving on the second day for a trip. Well, it's kinda warm outside (well not warm, but not too cold) so I think I'm going to go for a run now! ;D

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on running with bad knees. My knees have been hurting lately, but I got new running shoes because my old ones were worn out, so that helps to have more support. But they still hurt, even though I don't run downhill (I walk backwards) and I try to run on trails rather than roads. Any ideas? Thanks!

I just started running- I joined a running group for motovation and I have been running about 6km 3times a week for the past six weeks. I havent been able to run the past week though because ( stupid Canadian weather) we got about 30cm of snowfall- Natalie- I fyou are a teenager, knee problems are pretty normal. I have developed a knee problem from running, you might have the same as I have: When you run a lot, the thigh muscle on the outside of your leg strengthens faster than your inner thigh, consiquently, your knee cap is pulled over. If you do not go to a physio therapist, this problem will get worse- so go get it treated, and good luck! ;D

I love to run.
Except I only like short distance; not long. I'm faster at short distance and I find it a llot more fun. I'm planning on going out for our track team next year. ;D

I absolutely despise running. But I do it anyway. Track just got over for this year. I missed state by a half of a second in the 400 and in the 4x400 relay. It was so frustrating--even though I don't like running, I had worked hard enough...and I'm a competitive person. Oh well, I guess taking 6 seconds off from the beginning of the season and 2.5 seconds off my best time wasn't too bad. Part of the reason I don't really like running is that last year I had to run the 400 hurdles which is probably the hardest race. Oh, and my mom pushes me to run summer track even though I tell her I'm gonna be burnt out by the end of my Junior year if she keeps pushing me like that.

I ran track when I was in high school. My events were the 100m high hurdles, 200m dash, and 300m intermediate hurdles. The 300m hurdles were the hardest, even though they were low. By the time you get to the last hurdle, it looks like a high jump bar (because you're so tired). LOL.

Hey! I run track and xc, but I'm not a big fan of xc. Too long and boring. In track, I am basically a strict 800 runner, and I'm on the 4x4 and 4x8 relays. Next year, I'm going to do the 400, 800, 4x8 and 4x4. That's as middle distance as a middle distance runner can get, if ya ask me! But I love it!

Casseopia, the 300 hurdles? What about the 400 hurdles? Then you'd be realy tired. Ive heard thats the hardest race there is, and I wouldn't doubt it.

no no it for sure is not the hardest race... there's only 5 hurdles, and in the 3000 steeplechase or even only the 1600 steeplechase, those are way harder. The steeples are bigger and there are way more. Believe me, I've competed in all of them. Anyway, yes I'm a runner, I run distance in track, as well as running cross-country in the fall

Hmm . . . steeplechase. I didn't think of that. But I also know nothing about it considering that my school doesn't do it, and I've never seen it done. Well, I am actually on my way to my daily five miles (im gonna kick some a@s in xc this year, 18 min baby) so im out. KEEP RUNNING!!! ;D
