The relationship between you and ur parents...

Sometimes it's good, sometimes bad... I think I get along better with my mom, because I'm more like her. My dad can be just *so* unreasonable sometimes. But generally I think I have a pretty good relationship with my parents.

Last year, me and my mom were always arguing about any little stupid thing. Then, little by little, we stoped and started to get along better. Me and my dad have always had a good relationship I guess. I mean, I don't tell him a lot about my life, but if something is going on with my school work, he'll know. I don't really tell my mom about stuff either, I dont know.. I want to get close to her but I feel like she'll get mad at me if I tell her something that I did, you know?  We're getting there.

I generally get on fine with my parents. They are semi-protective, but allow me to go out as long as I'm not back too late. I don't argue with them much, although if I disagree I will say so.

I think the key to a good relationship with your parents is respect. I respect my parents, I do love them loads, and I know that by giving them respect, they will give it back. They have been through lots, and are a lot older than me, and know what they're talking about, which I think is something many teenagers forget when their parents are telling them off or something.

My parents and I usually get along pretty good.  I'd have to agree with what lilmisstrawberry said before - the key word is respect.  If they know they can trust me, then they'll let me do more things with friends/boyfriend...etc.  Life is a lot easier when you respect your parents and they respect you also.  It just make things less stressful.

My mom is usually pretty cool. She's too nosy though. She has a hobby of going through my room, reading my notes, and getting pissed cause of who I'm friends with. She gets mad at me about boys. She is disappointed me for liking Mike because he has a girlfriend, and she wants me to like my friend Collin. I told her to back off and let me make my own decisions a few days ago, she exploded.

My dad is cool half the time, a bastard the other half. He is at work about 10 hours a day, and I'd say he's pretty cool then. He's also nice when he has friends over. But, other than that, he is pissed off for everything- from my room being a mess to me not having homework. (He gets MAD about it!)

I love my parents dearly, but one is too nosy and overprotective, and one is a jackass. My dad makes me feel like shit, and he makes me feel worthless, but my mom sticks up for me sometimes. My mom tries to make me believe he loves me, but I think he just feels obligated. Hell, I AM his kid. He even said he doesn't like me a few days ago.

Oh well, I only see them on weekends and about 4-5 hours each day on weekdays. Plus, I leave for college in about 2 1/2 years, I just pray that goes by sort of fast....I don't want to rush high school or anything.

My mum IS a friend, but there's a barrier there and I won't tell her everything. We're not bestest friends, because I reckon that if she were my age, we wouldn't be hanging around together all the time. We're close, but she's my parent, more that than a friend.
