They're left behind. They don't go to Heaven when Jesus comes back....it's hard to explain for me. Maybe someone else, like Toxic, can explain better......he's good at that. .Brite.

the Rapture kinda scares me...I mean, imagine all those people who are gonna get left behind!
I have a question though. What exactally...qualifies you, I guess, to go up to heaven?

^ the only way to be accepted into heaven is to accept Jesus as your personal savior. it is the most important thing you can do, and the basis of your relationship with Christ.

So what if you are like a rapist or something but you accept Jesus as your personal savior? I mean, wouldn't it make more sense that genuinly good people should be accepted into eternal bliss rather than just believers? :oinsane

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can get through the Father, but through Me.”
“All have fallen short of the Glory of God, but only through grace are we saved – by faith. Not by works, so no one can boast.” (i.e. I did more than you did.)
Two Bible verses. One could take it as hard. I see it more as an encouragement. See, now I don’t have to worry about, that if I get out of bed, I’m going to screw it all up. Guess what. I will, I just have to try harder next time until I get it right.
The reason a rapist can get into heaven and a person who has done good all his life may not, is the result of several things. Since we’re talking about Rapture, a Christian belief, I will not make any qualifications. Believe as you must.
So what about that rapist? He accepts Jesus and gets to go to Heaven after all the bad he has done? Yes. First of all, he has recognized his sinfulness and wants to be free of it. Second, he is still bound by the law of the land. So even though he is free in Christ, he still has to pay for his crimes against society, up to and including the death penalty. Many in prison don’t care about anything, that’s why they’re there in the first place. Others realize they have made many mistakes and want to do right.
What about people who do good? That depends on yours or my definition of “good.” How many of us have lied, stolen or been a nasty person? All of us. How many do things with the intention of getting something back or that we can look good? I’d say many of us.
So what do you have to DO to go to Heaven? Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. That means giving your heart, soul and mind to Him. So many want to go to Heaven, but don’t want to do the ONE thing it takes to get there. Some say they don’t believe in God. Why would God want that person in His house if someone doesn’t want anything to do with Him. Would you?
And getting into heaven based on doing good would present some problems for us. How much “good” would you have to do? What if you did more than me? Or I more than you? Or someone beat both of us to it. Imagine God looking at a chart and asking, “Why should I let you into my Kingdom? And you answer by saying, “Well, I did this, this and this.” God shakes his head and says, “Sorry, missed by two, buh-bye. John, why should I let you into my Kingdom?”
And I’d have to say, “Lord, because I did all these things.”
To which God shakes His head and says, “Oooh. Tsk, tsk, missed by ten! See ya.”
Too many variables of what is meant by doing or being good. Do we go by your definition of good? Certainly not mine. How about man’s? Too many flaws, variables and loop holes.
To accept Christ levels the playing field. To have a heart after God and have faith in Him is what we have to do. That’s why Christ died on the cross for us, so we could spend eternity with God. If that rapist can go to Heaven, doesn’t it make it great, that so can you? Our doing “good” stops being a competition and we do service to each other because we want to.
Now once we accept Christ, that does not mean we can go off doing evil things. We have to work at purifying our minds and thoughts. And God knows that will not be an easy job. That’s why He gave us the rest of our lives to work at it. It gets better. God does not demand perfection, so much as he wants us to keep working at it. Faith, is what God looks for in us. If we get knocked down, he wants us to get right back up. We may even be complete failures as far as having that pure heart, we fight with lust and envy. But if we’re always trying, always, always working. Now our doing good deeds has a purpose, a mission. It means more than just feeling good. Now it’s helping the Kingdom of God grow. But that means anything. Your conduct at school or work, and at home and with your friends.
